We are delighted to have participated in the Hong Kong-ASEAN Summit 2023, an important platform bringing together policymakers, business leaders and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong, Mainland China, the ASEAN and beyond to discuss opportunities in the ASEAN and map the way forward.

The star-studded line-up of speakers include The Hon. John K C Lee, GBM, SBS, PDSM, PMSM, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; H.E. Parnpree Bahiddha-nukara, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand; H.E. Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Government of Singapore; The Hon. Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry for Malaysia; Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Co-founder of Gerindra Party; Dr Agung Wicaksono, Deputy for Funding & Investment, Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) of Indonesia; and The Hon. Bernard Charnwut Chan, GBM, GBS, JP, Chairman of Our Hong Kong Foundation as well as captains of the industry.

The summit speakers, attracting some 120 participants attending in person while more than 500 dialled in from across the region.  Speakers of key business sectors of pillar industries shared their insights on key topics including forging ASEAN’s relations through development, ASEAN physical connectivity, as well as ASEAN going green. 

The ASEAN was Hong Kong’s second largest trading partner in 2022 with trade amounting to HK$1.29 trillion or 13.7 per cent of the city’s total.  Strengthening ties with ASEAN member states holds immense importance to Hong Kong’s future as a super connector linking Mainland China and the ASEAN.  The Foundation will continue to work together towards sustainable growth in the region.
