Strengthening Ties with Youth
10 November 25

The Hong Kong-ASEAN Foundation is delighted to support the second edition of the Youth Development Summit, hosted by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of the HKSAR Government on 27 September 2025. The summit serves as a pivotal platform for international youth exchanges, and the second edition attracted more than 3,000 participants, including more than 600 from the Chinese Mainland and 33 overseas countries such as the United States, Malaysia, Laos, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The Foundation supported a delegation comprising teaching staff and students from universities in Laos to Hong Kong to facilitate fostering cross-territory youth exchange. In addition, we have welcomed more than 30 university students from Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, who are currently studying in Hong Kong.

Beyond the summit, the young delegates had the opportunity to explore Hong Kong’s vibrant landscape from technological innovations to cultural heritage and ecological landmarks through a series of thematic visits. These experiences not only broadened their understanding of the city, but also fostered meaningful connections with local youth.

We look forward to more meaningful connections between ASEAN and Hong Kong for a brighter future.
