The period drama film was set against the backdrop of late 1960s upheavals in Indonesia. Having lost her family, the protagonist Nana sought refuge in a second marriage to a wealthy older man. But the past lives on in her dreams. Trapped by patriarchal norms, Nana suffers in silence until the day she finds friendship and comfort in an unexpected place.
