Adapted from a novel, the movie tells the story of two brothers Thieu and Tuong living in a poor countryside village in Vietnam during the 1980s. A touching portrayal of brotherly love, childhood struggles, and relationships, the film was selected as the Vietnamese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.

Director | Victor Vu
Victor Vu (b. 1975, California, USA) is a Vietnamese-American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He completed his studies at the Loyola Marymount University, California, USA. His directed film, Passport to Love (2009), was the first movie ever produced in Vietnam. In 2004, First Morning (2003), another one of his directed films, received the Best Movie award from the Asian Film Festival in San Diego. His other works include Spirits (2004), Battle of the Brides (2011), Scandal (2012), and Vengeful Heart (2014).
