To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Singapore, the Singapore Film Commission gathered seven film directors to compose seven love letters to Singapore. These seven directors, including Boo Junfeng, Eric Khoo, K. Rajagopal, Jack Neo, Tan Pin Pin, Royston Tan, and Kelvin Tong, are all born and raised in Singapore and are award-winning filmmakers and familiar names in the local film industry and world stage. The seven short films are stylistically diverse, ranging from playful comedies to heartfelt dramas, and all draw on Singapore's unique culture and history, including the complex relationship with the United Kingdom and Malaysia, its multi-racial and multi-lingual population, as well as its rapid social development over the years. One thing the seven films have in common is their directors’ deep connection to their young country.
